Trip to Dominican Republic

Discovering bachata roots

Are you looking to enjoy the warmth of the Caribbean? But if you’re here, it’s because you’re looking for a trip that gives you something more than just laying on an all-inclusive beach to sunbathe. Dominican Republic is a fascinating country and it is worth knowing everything it offers, nature, good people, delicious food and lots of laughs. And, in addition, we will do some Dominican bachata classes for the dance-lovers, in which we will have a great time!

As you can see, our trips are a little away from the traditional concept of travel, we seek to complement tourism with dance, because we know that dance is happiness, it makes our mind to be distracted, generates energy and smiles.

Are you traveling alone or are you few and want to meet more people? Our trips are a meeting point for those who enjoy traveling and dancing! The group is small, so you can meet people with your same interests and with whom to continue sharing them when you return.

If you want to know more about how our trips, here, we tell you in more detail.

When we arrive in the Dominican Republic we will go to Las Terrenas, in the Samaná peninsula, where we will enjoy our first half of the trip. Waterfalls, cays, fresh fruit, barbecues and bachata classes are some of the activities that await us.

We will not miss the city of Santo Domingo, which is not only the capital of the country, but is declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. A colonial city that was the site of the first European settlement in America, and the first seat of the Spanish colonial government in the New World.

The Colonial City, which can be covered on foot, is a grid of 16 small streets full of architectural jewels from the 16th to the 20th centuries.

And to end our trip, we go to the south of the country to enjoy its magnificent beaches and dance a little more.

You cannot miss it … and all this combined with Dominican bachata classes!

We want you to come back home having enjoyed a unique experience!

The climate of the Dominican Republic is tropical warm, which has a fairly stable temperature throughout the seasons, which ranges between 25 and 35 degrees. The highest temperatures are reached in summer between the months of July and August, while from November to January they change a little, decreasing to 18 degrees, in high altitude regions, and 24 degrees in the rest of the country.

It must be taken into account that, since it is a warm tropical climate, the rains are abundant. The rainy season coincides with summer, since two rainy seasons are generally established: from April to June and from September to November.

Dominican peso.

In the Dominican Republic the plugs are A / B, so you will need an adapter. In general, the electricity is 120V.

The Dominican Republic can be considered a relatively safe country. It is advisable to follow basic rules of prudence such as not walking through isolated and dark areas, not using public transport services that are not perfectly identified, taking precautions when using ATMs installed outside banking entities, not carrying large amounts of money in cash, do not make ostentation, etc.

It is not common to leave tips, since in almost all the services already they load a 10%, with the exception of the bellboys, the guides and other professionals who always will wait an extra for their work.

Bring comfortable and cool clothes for your classes, keep in mind that many dance schools will not have air conditioning, so bring clothes to change later if you tend to sweat a lot, a towel and a bottle of water.

Salsa shoes are not necessary, if you want to bring them to take class there is no problem, but if you do not bring them, nothing happens either.

In the nightclubs of Dominican people, you do not usually see people with dance shoes, most of them cannot afford it. Maybe you see some tourist that uses them, but it is not usual. In addition, the floor is often not the most recommended, so you would destroy your shoes, but we can tell you, depending on the place we leave, in case you want to take them.
