Do you like kizomba? Are you looking for a destination where you can dance on your holidays? If you got here, this is your trip. In December we have this Cape Verde trip, to enjoy beautiful beaches, turquoise water and lots of dancing. Because we are going to dance kizomba and other Cape Verdean rhythms.
As you can see, our trips are a little away from the traditional concept of travel, we seek to complement tourism with dance, because we know that dance is happiness, it makes our mind to be distracted, generates energy and smiles.
Are you traveling alone or are you few and want to meet more people? Our trips are a meeting point for those who enjoy traveling and dancing! The group is small, so you can meet people with your same interests and with whom to continue sharing them when you return.
If you want to know more about how our trips, here, we tell you in more detail.
We will stay in Mindelo, capital of the Island of San Vicente. It is the second largest city in Cape Verde, and is considered its cultural capital. That is why we have chosen it for this trip, because Cape Verdean music has a great importance in this particular island. You will be able to listen to styles such as morna, coladeira or funaná, and our local teachers will teach you besides kizomba, to dance some of these local rhythms, so you can get immersed in the Cape Verdean culture through dance.
Funaná is a typical dance of the island of Santiago, it is songs to the beat of the bandoneón, to the rhythm of an iron stick. The morna has its origin in the island of Boavista, normally it is sung by women in Portuguese. And the coladeira, which is believed to have been born in the 30’s on the island that we are going to visit, would be a descendant of the morna with other musical influences.
